IGF-1 LR3 (Long R3 Insulin-Like Growth Factor-1) is a laboratory-engineered analogue of naturally occurring IGF-1. It has been modified with an arginine substitution at position 3 together with an additional amino-acid sequence at the beginning of the molecule.<\/p>\n
These modifications greatly reduce its affinity for IGF-binding proteins while allowing it to remain active at the IGF-1 receptor.
